Thermacell ICF is Fire-retardant Polystyrene Formwork for casting concrete structures.
The blocks have keyways top and bottom and push together like “LEGO” blocks. The blocks are hollow and are filled with concrete.

YES! The cost is comparable with brick veneer, however that is where the comparison stops.
Brick veneer or Double brick does not match the Quality, Strength, Acoustics, and Heat and Cold Insulation that is obtained by building with Thermacell. Sound Insulation between rooms and from noisy streets are welcome features of our building system. Real savings occur when, because of the Insulation in Thermacell, smaller heating systems would be required. Air-conditioning is seldom necessary.

We have a range of 5 different size blocks. The 125mm and the 250mm Blocks were the original Isorast blocks which came from Germany in 1982.

RMax State Manager Ziggy Schweiker said the German Isorast Thermacell building system chosen by the hall's builder Bells Construction was more cost effective than conventional construction methods.

The building system has been extensively tested by CSIRO and found to have superior sound dampening qualities to accommodate acoustic requirements.

That has meant that the system has been easily able to meet the strict acoustic requirements of the Concert Hall, including octave band requirements.
